Extremely disappointed with this bike the battery has lasted no time and the cost of a replacement is astronomical.

They took my review down . My Emu bike failed, the battery died after 450 miles . They said bad luck . The bike is now landfill. They refused to do anything to help me with the problem. Shameful, I should have bought Chinese.

I have just completed a charity 40 mile cycle ride. Initially I was concerned that the range of the battery would not be good enough but I was surprised. I rode the course in power level 1 all the way, even on flat and down hill sections, and used the derailleur gears as much as possible. The hills were not too steep but in all there was nearly 500m of ascent and I passed many people on normal bikes on the uphills but the passed me on the downhills and flat sections. My average for the ride was about 17kmph which was better than expected. At the end of the ride I still have 59 per cent of battery left. Amazing. At 75 I would never have completed the ride without my Emu bike. Thank you.

We did some social cycling down in Sussex on some old railway lines that are now official cycle tracks. I’ve used it to go to work, to go to events and to go to Twickenham last week. I think the ease and the comfort is huge. I find the bikes comfort genuinely, almost surprising in how at ease I feel on it. On a clear stretch of road and if you do find yourself a few minutes late you can just click the thing into action and off you go and you are not sweating buckets when you get to the other end. The bikes comfort is surprising and how at ease you feel with it. Going up hills it does take the pressure off. I find it a wonderfully easy and straightforward way of getting from A to B without sometimes the stress of everyday cycling so I’m a big fan, I really am.

My wife bought her Emu bike about 3 years ago, she has now ridden it for 1700k so we feel we can write with some honest experience. Well, it’s all good, she loves it. The quality of the bike shows through in the gears, brakes, wheels, etc. Looks are very important to my wife and this bike draws many comments from people who are struck by its good looks. The panniers and matching seat cover she has added are attractive and complement the style. So, what’s it like to ride. She has ridden several e bikes and took the Emu for a test ride before deciding to purchase. She wanted to ensure it would manage the hills in Devon where we live, and was very pleased with the performance. The nexus gears enable you to change down when stationary so pulling away from standstill there is always plenty of shove to get you underway very quickly. I’m very impressed with the gears, much easier than the deraillier on my own bike and no mess either. In 1700k there have been no issues at all other than a puncture.
